Tropical Depression Four-E Forms in the Eastern Pacific

Tropical Depression Four-E has become the latest in a recent spurt of Eastern Pacific tropical cyclones following on the heels of Hurricane Blas.

Four-E is not expected to directly affect any land areas as it heads west-northwest over the open Pacific waters.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
  • Four-E was located 740 miles from the southern tip of Baja California as of Wednesday.
  • Four-E is expected to intensify to Tropical Storm Celia by Thursday.
  • Further intensification to a hurricane is expected over the weekend.
