After thunderstorms and a cool shot on early in the week, Thursday is shaping up to be one of the nicest days for the Marksmen's fair in Hanover.
The 485th Marksmen's fair continues through this weekend in Hanover. The world's largest of its kind, the carnival features more than 250 fairground rides, carousels, games and drink stands.
Those planning to spend Tuesday afternoon and evening at Hanover should carry along an umbrella or prepare to seek shelter for a time. A cold front will deliver a couple of showers and a thunderstorm on Tuesday afternoon with a lingering shower to follow for the evening.
As soon as thunder is heard, the risk of being struck by lightning is present.
Hanover will dry out on Wednesday afternoon, but some festivalgoers may want to wear a long-sleeved shirt or light jacket as brisk winds will usher in cooler air.
After a high of 22 C (72 F) on Tuesday, Wednesday will feel more like late May with a high around 18 C (65 F). Temperatures will drop to around 14 C (58 F) around sunset.
The gusty breeze will create slightly lower AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures, especially in the shade and during the evening.
One of the nicest days of the fair will follow on Thursday as high pressure builds overhead. The day will feature less wind, a mixture of sunshine and clouds and a seasonable high of 21 C (70 F).

Detailed forecast for Hanover
It will be a great afternoon and evening to ride the Rocket Tower, Roue Parisienne or the Eclipse and Konga.
The presence of Thursday's clouds will be a sign that the dry spell will be brief. A new cold front will arrive on Friday and threaten to spoil the festivities with a couple of showers. The highest potential for the showers to turn thundery will be in eastern and southern Germany.
On the final weekend of the fair, latest indications point toward Saturday being the driest of the two days. However, another noticeable cooldown in the wake of Friday's cold front is not expected.
