Hurricane Georgette continues to move into the open east Pacific waters. The storm rapidly strengthened to a Category 4 major hurricane by Sunday night, but it is no threat to land.
Georgette is the fourth east Pacific Hurricane this year in the month of July, tying a record for most hurricanes in July.

- Hurricane Georgette was located about 1,145 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, as of Sunday night.
- Slow weakening in intensity is forecast Monday, followed by faster weakening Tuesday.
