Despite heavy rain forcing an early end to the first day of the Farnborough International Airshow, more tranquil weather is expected for this weekend.
The major trade exhibition and public air shows draws over 200,000 people, including an estimated 100,000 during the weekend.

While a weak frontal boundary can produce a brief shower on Saturday, most of the weekend will be rain-free allowing spectators to enjoy a full slate of flying displays and other entertainment such as simulators, stage shows and model aircraft.
Any shower is expected to last less than 15 minutes, and it remains possible that the showers will bypass the airshow completely.

Even with the threat for a shower on Saturday, there will be sunny spells throughout the day.
Abundant sunshine is expected on Sunday as dry air builds into the west, prompting the need for sunscreen.
High temperatures will be 22-23 C (72-74 F) both days with a refreshing breeze.

While the Farnborough International Airshow will avoid any significant adverse weather this weekend, golfers and spectators at The Open golf champion in Troon, Scotland, will have to endure occasional showers and gusty winds.
High temperatures will reach only 16-17 C (60-62 F) each day, and southwest winds gusting to 30 mph (48 km/h) at times will make it feel even cooler.
