If sizzling under the sun at the beach isn't your idea of a fun vacation, you may want to consider summer adventures in a cool destination where average temperatures peak in the 60s and 70s F during the summer.
You do not have to leave the United States to find a cooler climate for your summer vacation.
Check out the following U.S. destinations for cool weather lovers:
San Francisco

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, San Francisco offers not only comfortable conditions in the summer, but all year round. High temperatures average around 72 while lows typically settle in the middle 50s, ideal for those looking to escape hot and humid summer weather.
Instead, travelers can spend time visiting the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, picnic at the Presidio, hike Grizzly Peak or even catch a baseball game at AT&T Park.
Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Looking for cooler weather somewhere in the central U.S.? Well then you should consider a trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula where high temperatures rise into middle 70s throughout the month of July.
