The threat of severe thunderstorms, including tornadoes, will expand into the Ohio Valley into Tuesday night and continue over parts of the Plains into midweek.
Following damaging and deadly storms to start the week, the atmosphere will again turn volatile.
Storms will ignite over parts of central Texas and in portions of Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia into Tuesday night.
Evansville, Indiana; Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky; Huntington, West Virginia; Nashville and Cincinnati are among the cities at risk.
Into Tuesday night, the majority of the storms will bring the potential for damaging wind gusts, large hail and flash flooding.
"While the potential for strong and numerous tornadoes is lower than from Monday, the risk for a couple of tornadoes is greatest over the Ohio Valley into Tuesday evening," according to AccuWeather Storm Warning Meteorologist Alex Avalos.

While the overall number of thunderstorms capable of producing a tornado will be very small, all it takes is one tornado striking a populated area to cause significant damage and threaten many lives.
Residents and travelers in the region should pay close attention to severe weather warnings. If you hear thunder, seek shelter immediately. If you can hear thunder, you are at risk for being struck by lightning.
The severe weather threat will diminish later Tuesday night.
However, the atmosphere will reload over parts of the Plains on Wednesday.
The potential for severe thunderstorms, including isolated tornadoes will extend from west-central Texas to southern Iowa and western Illinois at midweek.
"We expect several tornadoes, flash flooding, large hail and damaging winds across the region during Wednesday afternoon and evening," AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions Lead Meteorologist Eddie Walker said.
The greatest concentration of severe thunderstorms on Wednesday will be over the central Plains into part of the middle Mississippi Valley.
