An extended period of dry and sunny weather will keep rain jackets and umbrellas in closets this week in Seattle.
"A nice and warm stretch of weather [is in the forecast] across the Pacific Northwest through the rest of the week thanks to a ridge of high pressure which will dominate," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.
Daytime highs will reside in the mid-to upper 70s F through Thursday, but will reach even higher by the end of the week.

"By Friday, residents and visitors can expect near-record warmth with sunny skies and high temperatures in the lower 80s," Edwards said. "The record high temperature on Friday is 84 set way back in 1973."

Fans headed to Safeco Field this week to watch the Mariners play the Tamp Bay Rays and Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim will likely be able to watch the games with the roof open.
Rain is expected to return to the city for the start of the weekend and so are cooler temperatures.
"It will cool off on Saturday as moisture and clouds move back in. A chance for showers will develop as well," Edwards said.
