While severe weather is threatening the central United States this
Veterans Day, an outbreak of severe weather erupted from the eastern
Great Lakes to the South during Veterans Day weekend of 2002. The second
largest November tornado outbreak on record struck 17 states. A total
of 36 people lost their lives.
