After thunderstorms unleashed hail on parts of the Australian state of Victoria on Thursday, the danger will shift to eastern New South Wales on Friday.
The arrival of a cold front sparked the hail-producing thunderstorms across Victoria on Thursday, AccuWeather Meteorologist Adam Douty said.
The worst of the thunderstorms erupted north and east of Melbourne, causing hail to whiten communities such as Marysville and Kinglake West.
As the front lifts northward, drier and cooler air will replace the severe thunderstorms on Friday across Victoria. There will be a lingering shower or two, mainly near the eastern border with New South Wales.
"The threat for thunderstorms with hail, downpours and gusty winds will shift northward to eastern New South Wales on Friday, with the threat greatest north and west of Sydney," Douty said.
