AccuWeather launched an all new experience for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on Monday, an anticipated universal app upgrade for all iOS users.
With an all-new look and increased readability, the app also features AccuWeather's top-trending video content.
Just in time for the most active travel season of the year, the AccuWeather app is designed to provide users with the most up-to-date forecasts, in addition to other features.
"Providing these important improvements to all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch app users supports our ongoing dedication to bring the best, most relevant and localized forecasts to people everywhere on Earth, helping them make informed decisions," President of Digital Media at AccuWeather Steven Smith said.
Several updates were based on direct-user feedback, including adding state, province and region details.
The new app features a new persistent navigation button, allowing users to switch to different sections at a faster pace. Users can now easily switch between various favorite locations to check on weather from points around the globe.
For a third year in a row, AccuWeather was recognized by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) with digital awards, including a 2015 Gold award for the iOS app.
The AccuWeather Universal App for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is available for free on the App Store.
In order to get the most out of your weather forecast, here are four unique features from the AccuWeather app:
1. AccUcast®
Drive on a road that was slippery? Is it raining? The interactive AccUcast® feature encourages users to become part of the weather story by sharing conditions they experience.
The feature presents the ability to share current conditions including clear, partly cloudy, cloudy, rain, snow, ice and hail. Users can also report hazard conditions such as damaging winds, slippery roads, flooding and reduced visibility.
Reports stay live on the map for six hours.
"Our mission is to personalize the weather by making it more localized and more interactive for all of our users," Smith said at the time of the initial July launch.
For a forecast down to your precise location, AccuWeather MinuteCast® is the only global minute-by-minute precipitation forecast that uses a person's exact street address or GPS location.
As millions head out for holiday shopping, AccuWeather MinuteCast will let users know just how much time is left before the rain or snow starts in their specific location and the intensity of the precipitation.

Located right underneath the current conditions features, MinuteCast tracks rain, snow and ice down to the minute, alerting users when it will start and stop.
This precipitation tracking technology is combined with ground observations, high-resolution computer forecast models and other information in order to generate a minute-by-minute precipitation forecast for your specific location.
3. AccuWeather RealFeel Temperatures®
While the thermometer reads a certain temperature, other weather factors, such as wind, humidity and sun, can make it feel higher or lower than the actual reading.
AccuWeather RealFeel Temperatures® take multiple factors into account and provide users with a better idea of how to approach the day's forecast.
The RealFeel Temperature reading is located directly above the current temperature on the home screen of the app.
4. AccuWeather's Top-Trending Video Content
It's one thing to experience the weather in your own backyard, but the app's new video section will offer a look at extreme weather, expert reports and viral videos from around the world.
Users are able to browse through the top video content featured on AccuWeather's Video Wall without opening a separate browser.
