Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,July 30,2016

A wave of low pressure will bring impacts to the Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday, while monsoonal thunderstorms fire up across the Southwest.

A low pressure area will move east northeastward from the Midwest to the northern Mid-Atlantic. This system will generate moderate to heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms over the upper Mississippi Valley, the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Prolonged heavy rain will bring threats of flash flooding to southwest New Hampshire, southern Vermont, western Massachusetts, western Connecticut, New York, northern New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, eastern Ohio, northeast West Virginia and eastern Virginia. A cold frontal boundary extending southwestward will also produce rain and thunderstorms over the Deep South and portions of the Plains. Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding in western Tennessee, northern Mississippi, northern Arkansas, southern Missouri, northeast Oklahoma and eastern Kansas.

Out west, monsoonal moisture will surge across a handful of states. Daytime heating will trigger afternoon and evening thunderstorms over the Intermountain West, the Desert Southwest and the Great Basin. Scattered storms will also be possible along the southern edge of the Pacific Northwest. There will be a threat of flash flooding in south central Arizona on Saturday.
