After becoming the record-breaking fifth July eastern Pacific hurricane Tuesday, Frank has weakened to a tropical depression well off Mexico's Baja California peninsula.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
- Tropical Depression Frank was located about 920 miles west of the southern tip of Baja California.
- The depression is now over cooler water, and has lost most of its convection, and should become a post-tropical remnant low by late Thursday.
- Frank is no threat to land.
Frank passed north of Socorro Island on Saturday evening with winds of 65 mph. The island reported wind gusts to 53 mph.
