Another in a series of frontal boundaries brought moderate rainfall to the Midlands and southern England on Tuesday. The weather pattern across the United Kingdom will remain unsettled through at least Thursday.
Spells of heavier rainfall swept across Portsmouth, London, Ipswich and Guildford earlier Tuesday. Showery spells also broke out throughout Ireland and southern Wales.
As another surge of moisture returns from the Atlantic moderate rainfall will continue to fall across southern England into early Wednesday morning affecting many of the same locations that had heavier spells of rain during the day Tuesday. London, Southampton and Ashford will lie in the path of the more significant rainfall.
Showery spells will continue to affect parts of the Midlands, Scotland, Ireland and Wales into Wednesday.
With low pressure spinning just offshore in the North Atlantic, gusty winds will accompany these showers, with occasional gusts to 50 km/h.

The heaviest, steadiest rain associated with the passing frontal boundary will depart to the east Wednesday and Thursday, extending into France, Norway and the Netherlands.
However, low pressure will continue to spin nearby, continuing to bring showery spells and gusty winds to the United Kingdom through Thursday. Southeast England, including the city of Ashford, will get the best chances for steadier rain.
