A line of violent thunderstorms tore across Massachusetts, including the Boston area, Tuesday afternoon.
The severe thunderstorms that left a trail of wind damage and hail across Massachusetts slammed metro Boston between 4 and 4:30 p.m. EDT. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency reported that more than 10,000 customers were without power across the state.
There have been reports of multiple downed trees and hail that ranged from 1 to 2 inches in diameter.

Tuesday marked the third consecutive day of severe thunderstorms erupting along the cold front that has marched from the Midwest to the Northeast. Thunderstorms on both Sunday and Monday turned deadly with the most recent deaths occurring when a tent collapsed in New Hampshire, killing two people.
The front will finally clear the Northeast's coast by Wednesday, sweeping away the severe weather threat and high humidity. The I-95 corridor will still remain on the warm side, while the interior gets a taste of September.
One photographer was able to film the pellets of hail falling in slow motion.
