Humidity and heat will get swept out of the Harrisburg area for the remainder of this week.
The passage of a cold front will open the door for drier air to pour into Harrisburg for Wednesday, sweeping away high humidity, heat and the threat of thunderstorms.
As sunshine wins out over clouds, any planning to spend a significant amount of time outdoors (including at the beach) should be sure to apply sunscreen or grab a hat.

A reduction in the warmth will follow for Thursday with temperatures tumbling back to several degrees below normal. Further cooling will occur on Friday as a storm system from the Ohio Valley tracks through the mid-Atlantic.
Whether this system continues to track eastward or turns to the north will determine whether the cooling will be the result of just a blanket of clouds or also rain.
