The month of May has opened the door for warm air to flow into the Chicago area following a cool end to April.
Dry conditions will accompany the warmth through Sunday, making for a great weekend to spend some time in the outdoors.
Highs on Saturday will reach the 70s before topping out near 80 F on Sunday.
This could be a great opportunity for people to get out some of their summertime lawn furniture, prepare their gardens, or clear their rain gutters of last autumn's fallen leaves.

Umbrellas will be needed once again come Monday as showers and thunderstorms move into the area. This unsettled weather is forecast to continue into the middle of the week.
