April 27,2015

A small brush fire that sparked to life in suburban Los Angeles Monday was contained in less than two hours, but not before a handful of homes, and at least one school, was evacuated.
The Highwater Fire burned about 5-acres of brush in the San Fernando Valley community of Granada Hills. A total of 10 homes were evacuated, according to NBC Los Angeles. St. Eupharasia School was also evacuated as a precaution. No structures were damaged.
About 200 Los Angeles firefighters were on the scene, and the L.A Times said it only took about 90 minutes to get the flames under control. At least two of the responders were taken to the hospital for what's being described as minor injuries.

According to The Associated Press, fire officials credited neighbors for doing an excellent job of clearing brush around homes and that helped keep the fire in check.
Gusty Santa Ana winds were ongoing in Southern California on Monday, helping spread the fire across the parched landscape from the ongoing severe drought.
