"The latest in a series of potent storms will blast into western Europe late Friday into Saturday," said weather.com meteorologist Chris Dolce. "Rain and gusty winds will extend from Ireland and the United Kingdom to France and Spain."

A Spanish cargo ship was snapped in half off southwestern coast of France Wednesday, according to a Stuff New Zealand report. A military helicopter was sent in to evacuate the crew aboard the approximately 300-foot-long Luno.
In England, a BBC report stated a key railway line was damaged that connects Dowlish, Devon to Cornwall in extreme southwestern England. The sea wall was knocked out by massive waves, leaving the tracks dangling in mid-air.
Approximately 25,000 people were without power Tuesday night in the French region of Brittany, according to a New Zealand Herald story.
Along the northern coast of Spain, several injuries have been reported from either high surf or wind-blown objects, EuroNews.com reports.
