While rain into this weekend may be welcomed by many in Arizona, showers may cause disruptions to NASCAR activities for the second week in a row.
Last weekend, showers and thunderstorms came calling at Daytona Beach, Fla., and forced an approximate six-hour rain delay for the race.
This weekend's storm will bring snow to the highest elevations of Arizona with rain in the offing part of the time in the desert at Avondale, Ariz.
The wettest day of the race weekend around Phoenix, Ariz., will be Saturday, when rounds of rainfall could take up more than one half of the day. There is also the possibility of a locally gusty thunderstorm as well for the Nationwide race.

The bulk of the rain will shift east of the area later Saturday night. However, enough moisture may remain in the atmosphere to produce spotty, pop-up showers on Sunday for the Sprint Cup Series race.
