Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico continues to bring rounds of rain and thunderstorms to parts of the South for the last day of this extended holiday weekend.
Heavy downpours from this system pummeled the Florida Panhandle the past several days. From Wednesday through Saturday, Panama City has picked up 11.50 inches of rain.
Valparaiso, Fla. has also seen substantial rainfall since July 3, receiving 12.75 inches of rain.
Drenching storms will continue through Sunday, bringing with them more flooding issues.

Sunday's flood threat is not just limited to the Florida Panhandle, but also extends from the central Gulf Coast to the central Appalachians.
This includes Pensacola, Fla., New Orleans, La., Birmingham, Ala., Knoxville, Tenn., and Charleston, W. Va.
Widespread river flooding is not expected with these storms. However, more than 4 inches of rain could fall locally in some places, causing dangerous flash flooding issues for low-lying and poor drainage areas.
All of these areas could have major travel disruptions and delays as people head home from their Independence Day destinations.
Heavy downpours could hinder travel along I-10 through the Florida Panhandle to Louisiana. Travel along I-65 and I-59 may also be obstructed.
Airports in the area could have some delays across the region.
Like many flash flooding events, this may be a particularly dangerous situation in some area and flooding can be life-threatening
