Severe Storms: Southern Canada to Northern US

Severe thunderstorms will threaten areas from south-central Canada to western and central Nebraska through Sunday night.
Some of those areas were rattled on Saturday afternoon and evening by large hail and gusty winds from thunderstorms, especially eastern South Dakota and western Nebraska.
Hail up to 2 inches in diameter pounded the Rapid City, S.D., area and they are in the threat area once again.
In addition to large hail, damaging winds and downpours are concerns with the most intense storms.

The risk is low, but isolated tornadoes can also occur. The areas most susceptible to this isolated tornado threat lie across far southeastern Saskatchewan, southwestern Manitoba and western North Dakota.

Brandon, Manitoba, and Fargo and Bismarck, N.D., could be affected and travel along Interstates 90, 94 and 80 may be impacted, especially from blinding downpours and flooding.
As Sunday night progresses, thunderstorms will evolve into an organized complex and move eastward across eastern North Dakota and into northern Minnesota. There is the potential for downpours and damaging winds across those areas.
The threat for severe weather will continue to shift eastward on Monday, threatening Minneapolis, Minn., and Wausau, Wis.
