6:25 p.m. EDT Saturday: Storms and showers beginning to develop near New York City.
5:55 p.m. EDT Saturday: Strong storm, with possible pea-sized hail and wind gusts, moving toward Springfield, Mass.
5:23 p.m. EDT Saturday: Police report trees down in Sidney and Vassalboro, Maine, northeast of Augusta.
