Hot weather will storm back into the Northwest by the middle of the week after a brief respite for the area.
High pressure responsible for the recent string of dry weather will expand northward bringing continued dry, but increasingly hot weather to the region as the early part of the week progresses.
Similar to Sunday, temperatures on Monday will warm into the 80s and 90s in the lower elevations of the Northwest. The coastline will remain cooler with highs in the 60s and lower 70s.
Meanwhile, places around Boise will become hot with highs already approaching 100 degrees.
As Tuesday rolls around, however, the entire region away from the coast will feel the heat.
On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to reach 103 degrees in Boise, with temperatures reaching the low 90s in Portland, and the mid-80s in Seattle.
