Unsettled weather will continue through midweek as showers dampen much of Germany.
While a washout is not expected, most locations will get multiple showers from Wednesday through Thursday.
Anyone heading outdoors, including those observing Ash Wednesday, will want to be prepared with a jacket and umbrella.

Even though multiple showers are possible, rainfall will generally last only 20-30 minutes at a time on Wednesday.
A more prolonged period of rainfall is expected Wednesday night before tapering to showers on Thursday.
Gusty winds will accompany the rain, making it feel colder despite temperatures remaining several degrees above normal.
The gusty winds will also make the showers turn into a wind-driven rain at times which could make umbrellas difficult to use.
Frequent wind gusts of 32-48 km/h (20-30 mph) are expected both Wednesday and Thursday. Localized gusts over 65 km/h (40 mph) are possible Wednesday night into Thursday across central and northern Germany.

Despite plenty of clouds and showers, temperatures will climb to 7-9 degrees Celsius (44-48 degrees Fahrenheit) in most areas with a few locations in the southwest approaching 10 C (50 F) both Wednesday and Thursday.
Normal high temperatures for the beginning of March range from 4-7 C (40-45 F).
Additional rainfall is possible from Friday into the weekend across western and southern Germany while a period of drier weather returns elsewhere.
