A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck central Argentina early Monday morning with the quake being felt as far away as Chile.
The earthquake occurred at 7:49 a.m. local time Monday in a lightly populated area of Argentina, according to the USGS.
Fortunately, there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the earthquake.
La Punta and San Luis are two of the larger cities in the area of where the earthquake occurred, both located within 100 km (62 miles) of the quake's epicenter.
The tremor was able to be felt as far away as Santiago, the most populated city in Chile. However, any damage in this area would be minor due to how far away the city is located from where the earthquake occurred.

Spotty thunderstorms are in the forecast for central Argentina through the middle of the week.
While these thunderstorms can cause some disruptions to any cleanup efforts, most of each day should be free of rain and stormy weather.
There is the possibility for several aftershocks to affect the area following the 6.3-magnitude earthquake, but these tremors should not be as strong as Monday morning's quake.
