Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,February 25,2015

An area of low pressure will streak across the Gulf Coast on Wednesday, while a separate system will skim across the coast of New England.

An area of low pressure will deepen on Wednesday as it shifts eastward over the southern Plains, the Gulf Coast and the Southeast. During the first half of the day, this system will usher a mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow over the southern Plains and the lower Mississippi Valley. By the afternoon and evening, this system will strengthen, bringing moderate to heavy precipitation to the Deep South, the southern Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast. A mix of heavy snow and freezing rain will be possible from southern Arkansas to northern Georgia. A cold air mass over the Tennessee Valley and the Mid-Atlantic will aid in producing heavy snow over the region. Just to the south, rain and thunderstorms will fire up over the eastern Gulf Coast and the Southeast.

Meanwhile, a separate area of low pressure will slide northeastward over the coast of New England. Moderate to heavy snow showers will impact northern New England. Lighter snow showers will be possible across southern New England and the interior Mid-Atlantic.

To the west, a wave of low pressure will move southeastward over the upper Intermountain West, the northern Plains and the Midwest. Heavy snow will be possible over the central Rockies and the Midwest.

An onshore flow from the Pacific will fuel light showers over the Pacific Northwest. A ridge of high pressure will keep conditions clear across the Southwest on Wednesday.
