Following the bout of wintry weather, icy conditions and snow, the Atlanta area will see much drier weather over the next several days, but the cold weather gripping the area will linger into the new week.
According to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Dave Samuhel, the Atlanta area, which was struck with a diverse range of weather will see clearer skies for the weekend.
"It will be colder than normal behind this storm, but well above freezing during the days," Samuhel said.
Highs can be expected to near the middle to upper 40s through the day with overnight lows sinking into the upper 20s.
Some roads and sidewalks could experience a freeze at night as overnight lows dip into the 20s.

A chance for rain will return later in weekend but highs will begin to climb out of the 40s into the 60s by the new week.
Warmer weather with highs in the low 60s can be expected Monday and Tuesday, but the threat for thunderstorms may dampen the start of the week.
