Another blast of cold, arctic air will linger across the Detroit area through the weekend, before temperatures climb to near freezing at the start the new week.
"A reinforcing shot of arctic air will be in place for the rest of the week," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Carl Erickson said.
Despite sunshine returning, temperatures will struggle to get out of the teens. Overnight lows will dip into the single digits.
"High pressure will remain in place Friday and Saturday which will promote more in the way of sunshine," he said.
However, the sunny skies will not prevent another couple of frigid days with highs in the teens.
"A gradual moderation in temperatures is expected for the second half of the weekend into early next week," he said.

With some snow possible Sunday, high temperatures will near the 30-degree mark.
Clouds and sun can be expected Monday with highs in the lower 30s, which will still be several degrees below average, Erickson added.
