Following several days of unseasonable warmth, change is coming to the United Kingdom as cool and showery weather settles over the country later this week.
The pattern will begin to change on Wednesday as a potent storm brings moderate to heavy rainfall to parts of England and Wales on Wednesday.
The rain will be heaviest during the midday and afternoon hours across southern England and the Midlands before shifting into the East of England during the evening hours.
Rainfall will cause slower travel during the afternoon and evening hours, with possible delays during the evening commute.
Some localized flooding will be possible, although much of the rain will be beneficial following an abnormally dry winter and spring throughout England.
A weak, slow-moving storm will then descend on the U.K. from Thursday into the weekend.
This storm will produce daily showers, some thundery, throughout the U.K.
Brief, heavy downpours can also result in poor driving conditions.

This threat will expand throughout the entire U.K. over the weekend.
High temperatures will generally average 13-17C (55-62 F) across the country from Thursday through Sunday with the highest temperatures in London and the Southeast.
