Roads Rendered Impassable, Motorists Stranded As Flooding Slams Tampa Metro Area

Heavy rains soaked Tampa, Florida, Saturday, causing flooding that rendered roads impassable and motorists stranded.
Multiple streets in Tampa were inundated by floodwaters, stranding motorists and shutting down roadways, the National Weather Service said.
Slow-moving thunderstorms moved through the Tampa metro Saturday afternoon, where the ground is already saturated by heavy rainfall from the past couple of weeks. As of mid-afternoon, Tampa International Airport had picked up more than three inches of rain from the deluge,” said weather.com meteorologist Chris Dolce.

Bad weather prompted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to delay the first practice of 2015 training camp until 5 p.m., The Tampa Bay Tribune reported.
Pasco County, Florida, declared a state of emergency on Friday in response to heavy flooding that slammed the area over the past weeks.
