Heat Returns From Spain to Poland and Balkans; Rounds of Rain for Paris and Amsterdam

Following a scorching first half of the month in much of Europe, cooler air brought relief to areas from Spain to Italy, the Balkans and Poland over the past seven to 10 days.
High pressure building over eastern Europe this week will promote dry weather with building heat across southern, central and eastern Europe.
Cities that will experience this big warmup include Madrid, Berlin, Milan, Budapest, Warsaw and Bucharest.

In Madrid, the high on Monday was only 25 C (77 F), but the heat began to return on Tuesday, and a warming trend is expected through the end of the week.
By Friday and Saturday, the temperature will climb to near 35 C (95 F). A high temperature of 28 C (82 F) is more typical for the end of August.
Berlin will be on the edge of the heat this week as daily high temperatures fluctuate between 25 and 31 C (77 F and 87 F). The hottest days of the week will be Thursday and Sunday.
A normal high in Berlin this time of the year is around 22 C (72 F).
Following a wet and chilly start to the week, dry and hotter weather will build over northern Italy, including Milan, during the second half of the week.
Days will feature plenty of sunshine and temperatures ranging from 29-32 C (85-90 F), with a high around 27 C (80 F) more common for this time of the year.

The normal high temperature is also around 27 C (80 F) in Budapest; however, highs will be close to 32 C (90 F) from Friday through early next week with no rainfall in the forecast.
The heat will also build across Poland where temperatures will soar into the lower 30s C (upper 80s and lower 90s F) on Friday. A slight cooldown is expected over the weekend before more heat returns early next week.
The heat will even reach southeastern Europe as Bucharest will experience high temperatures near 32 C (90 F) from later this week into next week.
While the heat will not be record-breaking, it will be long-lasting for many areas as high pressure holds over eastern Europe into next week.
Several storm systems will track across northwestern Europe bringing rounds of rain to areas such as Paris, London and Amsterdam.
This stormy pattern will keep the heat at bay, but there can be localized flash flooding, Thursday into Thursday night as the strongest of the storms move through the region.
