After taking a break this week, heat and humidity will return to Harrisburg this weekend and will not be quick to depart.
An area of high pressure building in from the Midwest will allow the late week around Harrisburg to feature sunshine, cool nights and low humidity. Temperatures will rise to within a couple of degrees of the typical late August high of 82 F both Thursday and Friday.
The weather will be fine for outdoor plans such as sporting events or construction projects.

As the high shifts offshore, the door will open for summer heat and humidity to return gradually.
"After ranking Friday's weather close to a perfect 10, temperatures and humidity levels will inch up over the weekend," stated AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek.
"It might take some time to get the air to feel humid, and it will not be anything out of the ordinary for late August, but a gradual uptick is expected this weekend," he said.
Temperatures will once again approach the 90-degree mark this weekend with AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures cracking that threshold.
While most places will stay dry, Dombek added that with the increase in humidity, the chance for a pop-up thunderstorm will follow suit.
"I feel that on Saturday, the pop-up thunderstorm chance will be away from the coast and the I-95 corridor and then a better chance over most areas on Sunday," he said.
"However, we are getting into the time of year where pop-up thunderstorms do not develop as quickly as they would in June and July with just daytime heating," Dombek said. "You need some sort of a trigger this time of year."
Such a trigger could be lacking this weekend as will be signs of another cooldown to end August and start September.
"In general, it will continue to feel summery into early next week," Dombek added.
