BREAKING: Strong Storm Causes Tent Collapse at Festival

One person is dead and multiple people are injured after a tent collapsed during a thunderstorm at a festival in suburban Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The tent collapsed at the Wood Dale Prairie Fest near Wood Dale Junior High during a thunderstorm Sunday afternoon.
"The thunderstorm that moved through Chicago Sunday afternoon actually popped up well ahead of an approaching cold front and ahead of a more organized band of severe thunderstorms that was off to the north," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.
Wood Dale Deputy Police Chief Mike Rivas told the Chicago Tribune that 17 to 20 more people were taken to area hospitals when the tent collapsed.

"The storm produced widespread wind gusts between 45 and 55 mph; however, radar indicated that localized wind gusts to 70 mph were possible and those certainly could have occurred where damage was reported," Edwards said.
Edwards added that widespread hail from the size of quarters to golf balls also occurred.
This same thunderstorm also caused a tent to collapse, called The Dome, in the suburban Rosemont and a temporary evacuation of the music festival Lollapalooza.
Wood Dale is located about 25 miles northwest of Chicago.
