Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,February 11,2015
A low pressure system will shift across the Great Lakes on Wednesday, while a ridge of high pressure will linger over the Southwest.
An area of low pressure will slide eastward over the upper Midwest, the Great Lakes and the Northeast. This system will usher light to moderate snow showers across the upper Midwest, the Ohio Valley, the interior Mid-Atlantic and interior New England on Wednesday. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southwestward over the middle Mississippi Valley, the southern Plains and the southern Rockies. This frontal boundary will generate moderate to heavy snow showers over the central and southern Rockies. In addition, light to moderate rain will develop over the lower elevations of eastern Arizona, New Mexico and the southern Plains. High pressure will keep weather conditions calm over the Deep South and the Southeast.
Meanwhile, an onshore flow from the Pacific will bring chances of rain to the Pacific Northwest during the late afternoon and evening. High elevation snow showers will be possible over the northern Cascades and the northern Rockies. A ridge of high pressure will keep conditions dry across the Southwest and the Great Basin. Temperatures are forecast to range between the 70s and 80s across the Desert Southwest on Wednesday.
