Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday,February 26th,2015

A low pressure system will move across the Southeast on Thursday, while a cold front will slide across the central third of the country.

A vigorous low pressure system will move east northeastward over the southeastern corner of the country. This system will tap into moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, triggering rain and thunderstorms across the southern Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast. Light snow showers will also trail this system over parts of the Midwest, the Ohio Valley, the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England.

Meanwhile, a cold frontal boundary will sink southeastward over the Intermountain West, the Plains and the Mississippi Valley. Upslope flow will generate moderate to heavy snow showers over the central and southern Rockies. Light to moderate snow showers will also develop along this frontal boundary over the upper Intermountain West, the central high Plains and the southern Plains.

Several waves of low pressure will push across the Pacific Northwest. Light rain will be possible across western Washington, western Oregon and northern California. A mixture of rain and snow will also develop over the Cascades on Thursday. High pressure will keep conditions mostly clear over the southwestern corner of the country.
