Sgt. Kent Taylor became a hero after he saved an 82-year-old woman from freezing in below zero temperatures Tuesday night in Celina, Ohio.
Celina Police Chief Tom Wale recounted in a press release that Sgt. Taylor spotted the woman in a backyard while on foot patrol in her neighborhood, around 11 p.m.
The officer found the woman lying face down in the snow, WANE-TV reported. She was taking her dog outside when she slipped on ice.

The woman said no one could hear her cries for help, WHIO-TV said.
Wale said the woman sustained a head injury and broken arm. Sgt. Taylor helped her stand and waited with her until an ambulance arrived to transport her to the hospital.
Wale commended the officer for saving the woman's life, saying she likely would not have been found before day.
