While the Minneapolis area will have drier weather over the next several days, the bitter cold will not relinquish its grip.
Despite some sunshine through Thursday, high temperatures will only manage to climb into the single digits," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Carl Erickson said.
Temperatures through Thursday night will fall well below zero.

A warm front will bring a coating to an inch of snow Friday morning which will result in slippery spots.
"It will not be as harsh in the afternoon with temperatures rebounding into the middle 20s," Erickson added.

Sunny skies can be expected Saturday with highs in the lower 20s.
However, a reinforcing shot of arctic air will come in for the second half of the weekend with high temperatures Sunday struggling to get out of the single digits, Erickson said.
"This eases a bit into early next week with highs Monday back into the lower 20s," he said.
