The coldest air of the winter will affect the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, area through Monday and will rival some of the temperatures experienced during January 2014.
Temperatures could dip to near zero F by Monday morning in Harrisburg, which would be the coldest since Jan. 7, 2014. The lowest temperature reading in January 2014 was zero. Should the temperature slip below zero, it will be the lowest temperature since January 1994.
Morning low temperatures through next week could challenge daily record lows.
At times gusty brutal winds will add to the frigid air making for downright dangerous conditions to be outdoors for an extended period of time.

AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures will be below zero. There is a risk of frostbite on exposed skin and hypothermia if not properly dressed.
Due to the extreme cold, snow that fell from the locally blinding squalls during the first part of the Valentine's Day weekend will lay around. Temperatures at this level render the majority of ice melting compounds ineffective. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to travel with caution as a result.
