Yet another snow event is on the horizon for New York City following a frigid start to the new week.
Brutal cold and harsh winds will continue to have a firm grip on the Tri-State area on Monday.
RealFeel® temperatures starting the day near 20 F below zero will struggle to rise above 10 F in the afternoon despite some sunshine. There is a risk of frostbite on exposed skin and hypothermia if not properly dressed.
The cold will set the stage for yet another winter storm to return snow to New York City Monday night through Tuesday.
While the heaviest snow is expected south and east of the Five Boroughs, all of the Tri-State area should prepare for disruptions to travel and daily routines. That includes for both the morning and evening commutes of Tuesday.
Slow travel will result as area roads and interstates become slick, potentially impacting those headed to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Airline passengers should prepare for flight delays and cancellations. That is the case even in the afternoon as the snow is winding down due to the resultant ripple effect.
The snowstorm will be followed by a couple of snow showers on Wednesday before yet another bitter blast of arctic air arrives for the second half of the week.
Amid that cold blast, record lows will be challenged more than once.
