A chance of rain is expected on Monday as a Pacific storm moves through the Northwest United States.
The storm will drag through a cold front, bringing the rain chances even to the San Francisco area.
Most of the state remains under severe to extreme drought conditions, according to the Palmer Drought Severity Index.
The paucity of precipitation will continue California's ongoing drought woes.
