A soaking rain will taper off across the city Wednesday as more seasonable weather settles in for the balance of the week.
After unusually warm and humid weather early this week, the rain pushing through the city will bring an end to the September-like warmth.
"Pockets of lingering street and poor-drainage flooding can interrupt the Wednesday morning commute," said AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Erik Pindrock.

Drier and sharply cooler air will filter in by Wednesday afternoon in the wake of a cold front.

"More October-like weather will settle into the city for the balance of the week in wake of the front," said Pindrock.
Highs will be in the lower 60s for both Thursday and Friday along with a spotty shower each day. Even cooler weather will arrive by the weekend as highs get stuck in the 50s.
