Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,September 6,2014

A strong low pressure system will move across southeast Canada on Saturday, while tropical moisture is expected to surge across the Southwest.

A large area of low pressure will move eastward across the southeastern corner of Canada. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southwestward across New England, the eastern Great Lakes, the Ohio Valley, the middle Mississippi Valley and the southern Plains. As this frontal boundary collides with warm, muggy air over the eastern third of the country, strong to severe thunderstorms will develop over the Northeast. Severe thunderstorms will be possible over northern New Jersey, northeast Pennsylvania, eastern New York and New England. These thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail, dangerous straight line winds and isolated tornadoes. Strong thunderstorms will also develop over the Ohio Valley, the Tennessee Valley and the middle Mississippi Valley, while isolated thunderstorms will pop up across the Deep South, the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic.

Meanwhile, tropical moisture associated with Hurricane Norbert will surge across the southern Plains, the southern Rockies and the Southwest. Heavy rain associated with these thunderstorms will bring a chance of flash flooding to western Texas, New Mexico and southeast Arizona. High pressure will keep conditions clear across the northern Plains, the upper Intermountain West, the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast on Saturday.
