After a sizzling and stormy start to the weekend, Sunday and early next week will dry out and turn pleasant.
Improvement in the weather department will greet folks in the Boston area for a couple days as high pressure makes an appearance over the region.
This zone of high pressure will squash clouds and precipitation for at least a short period.

Temperatures to start the week will reflect a stark contrast compared to the end of this past week. Folks should expect high temperatures to be nearly 20 degrees cooler.
High temperatures will remain in the low 70s for the early part of the week with overnight low temperatures dropping into the low 60s.
Accompanying the drop in temperature will be a push of less humid air, allowing for a rather pleasant end to the day on Sunday and a rather nice day on Monday.

Monday will certainly be the nicest day during this stretch and people are urged to get out and enjoy it. Those with outdoor activities planned will find the weather to be rather cooperative.
Sunshine will be abundant on Monday but clouds will not be far away.
The middle of the week will be marked by another round of unsettled weather as a coastal disturbance slowly progresses along the East Coast.

Depending on the track of this system, some parts of Massachusetts may miss out on rain. Meanwhile, the best chance to be dampened will likely be Cape Cod and areas near the coast. Clouds will likely hang around much of New England however.
This could force any beach plans that folks may have to be cancelled. Also, several shark sightings and incidents have been observed in coastal waters lately.
The end of the week could feature a brief warmup, but temperatures are not expected to be nearly as warm as this past week.
