Another possible tornado was reported in Hiram, but a spokesperson from the Hiram Police Department said there were no injuries and only a few reports of downed trees.
The University of Akron canceled evening classes, and Wednesday night's Major League Baseball game between the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins was also called off.
In Michigan, Detroit Public Schools dismissed two hours early ahead of the storms on Wednesday.
Indiana also experienced problems from the storm system, as rainfall picked up in intensity Wednesday night. On the campus of Ball State University, torrential downpours led to reports of flooding.
The severe weather is expected to move into the mid-Atlantic and Northeast Thursday. Heavy rain and high winds will be the main threat. You can get the latest forecast from the weather.com severe tracker.
