The Blizzard of '78 struck the northeastern United States between Feb.
6-7. Southern New England was hardest hit by the storm with many areas
receiving over 3 feet of snow, tropical-storm-force winds and massive
drifts. It is estimated that the storm caused the deaths of around 100
people.
