A total of 87 tornadoes touched down between eastern Texas and the Ohio
Valley between Feb. 5 and 6, 2008. The twisters caused the deaths of 57
people. The combination of clashing air masses and a powerful jet stream
triggered the thunderstorms that caused the tornadoes.
