Bitter Cold Heading for Detroit

A return of brutally cold air is on its way to Detroit for mid-week.
Temperatures had been running about 7 to 10 degrees above normal during the last five days but that will change after a reappearance of the now-infamous polar vortex.

Record-breaking low temperatures are possible Wednesday and Thursday nights, with lows in the low single digits to below zero. On Thursday night, AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures will be about 20 below zero with a gusty north-northwest wind up to 20 mph.
Temperatures will moderate on Saturday with a high in the upper 20s.
