Philly: Next Chance of Rain Not Until Late Saturday

An extended period of dry weather will continue into Saturday afternoon around Philadelphia. The next chance of rain is late Saturday afternoon.
Sunshine and a warming trend will take the Philadelphia area through each day of the balance of the week.
Temperatures are forecast to reach near 80 degrees on Friday.

If you are heading to Citizens Bank Park, a slow-moving frontal system will bring some shower and thunderstorm activity to the region by the end of the day Saturday and cold affect play during the late innings. Until then, the weather should be fine for baseball and football around the area.

For fans heading to Happy Valley for the Penn State/Kent State game Saturday, bring wet weather gear. There is the potential for a dose of windswept, heavy rain during the midday and afternoon.
Rain could come in buckets around Philadelphia Saturday night.
The risk of shower and thunderstorm activity will diminish Sunday around Philadelphia.
The latest indications are that a southern storm will fail to turn northward along the mid-Atlantic coast early next week.
