After a warm Saturday in Chicagoland, rain will develop Saturday night and usher in a cooler airmass for Sunday.
A good deal of sunshine on Saturday allowed temperatures to rise into the lower 80s.

Rain will affect the area Saturday night as a cold front approaches from the west, creating a stark 20-degree temperature drop from the earlier high temperature.

Between .25 and .50 of an inch of rain will fall in Chicago before drier air moves in toward daybreak on Sunday.
The cooler air will stick around Sunday, with a high in the lower 70s, which is close to normal for late September. Clouds and sun will dominate the afternoon Sunday before the temperature drops into the mid-50s overnight.
Sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid-70s will be in store for Monday.
