Boston: Rain to Arrive Saturday Night

After an extended period of dry weather, the next chance of rain for the Boston area will be Saturday night.
The balance of the week will feature mainly clear skies and sunshine by day with highs in the 70s.
A cool front is forecast to make slow, but steady eastward progress from the Midwest to end the week.

Dry weather is in store for fans heading to Fenway Park through Friday evening's game.
Unfortunately, the timing of the front can begin to produce spotty showers Saturday evening. There could be several hours of rain during the day Sunday, especially if a storm system forms along that front as it reaches the coast.
For folks heading to Foxboro, Mass., Sunday afternoon, expect rainy and breezy conditions. Some of the rain will be heavy at times.
For boating and fishing interests, that storm could kick up seas Saturday night through Sunday. There is the chance a tropical system rockets northward offshore and takes aim at Atlantic Canada by later Monday.

The storm and frontal system have enough forward speed to push east of the Boston area by the middle of Sunday afternoon.
After a few days with highs in the 70s, much cooler weather will return for early next week featuring highs in the 60s and a chilly breeze.
